Ange Postecoglou left the football world with goosebumps after a stirring speech as Celtic celebrated its Scottish Premiership triumph with a 6-0 demolition of Motherwell on Saturday.

The Glasgow giants sealed their 10th Premiership title in 11 seasons at Dundee United on Thursday morning [AEST] and with a title party at home guaranteed, they celebrated in style.

Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi scored twice in the first half, either side of a goal by former Motherwell midfielder, with Celtic 3-0 ahead at half-time.

Portuguese winger Jota made it 4-0 before substitute Giorgos Giakoumakis completed the rout with two goals.

It was an emphatic way for Postecoglou to end his first season in charge, with the Australian winning the League Cup and Premiership and taking a team that had slipped 25 points behind Rangers to one that finished four ahead of their arch-rivals.

“Champions, that’s who we are,” Postecoglou said when handed the microphone to address the Celtic fans.

“I just want to thank everyone involved from the board management and the best staff in the land – unbelievable effort.

“I’ve got a group of players who have been unbelievable – champions of Scotland and well deserved. And for you, the best [fans] in the planet – unbelievable.

“You’ve embraced me, my family, this jumper. And I want everyone to enjoy today, enjoy the summer and we’ll come back bigger and better – because we never stop.”

It was Socceroo Tom Rogic’s last game for Celtic after revealing earlier in the week that he would be departing at the end of the season.

“It’s hard to put into words. The club’s been an enormous part of my life,” Rogic told Sky Sports post-game.

“I can’t thank everyone enough, it was emotional for me and my family.

“I’ve fortunate I’ve had many great moments, I’ve been part of many successful teams and won a lot of trophies.

“You look around and see the atmosphere, it’s special. I’ll be watching as a fan.”

Speaking post-game, Celtic captain Callum McGregor paid tribute to Rogic and Nir Bitton, who is also leaving the club.

“It’s a dream come true for me,” McGregor said.

“I couldn’t have done it without the staff and the players, they’ve been top class. “Absolutely, [Bitton and Rogic are] two fantastic guys and [have had two fantastic] football careers at Celtic.

“Fantastic careers backed by massive support around the world. I would like the thank them personally and wish them the best.”
