There is so much new evidence rolling in for the Jan. 6 committee to review that on Wednesday, Chairman Bennie Thompson told reporters gathered on Capitol Hill that the committee will now hold additional hearings in July.

The next hearing is slated for Thursday, June 23 at 3 PM ET, with witness testimony expected from former acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen, former acting deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue, and former assistant Attorney General Steven Engel. All served at the Justice Department during the Trump administration. The committee had said their testimony is expected to illuminate how former President Donald Trump attempted to corrupt the department and pressure some of its highest-ranking officials to go along with a scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger is expected to lead Thursday’s hearing.
